What we collect
- Account identifier from Google or Discord (an internal ID). We do not receive or store your email address, real name or avatar.
- Public name: an automatic
playerNNNNname, or the one you choose. It is shown next to the pixels you place. - Pixels you place: position, colour, time and account. This is public (anyone can see who placed a pixel) and forms part of the weekly artwork, the gallery and the timelapses.
- IP address at sign-up, used only to limit how many accounts are created from the same network.
- Session cookie (
pw_session, 90 days) to keep you signed in, and a short-lived cookie (10 minutes) that protects the sign-in flow. Both are strictly necessary. - Invitations: if you sign up with a friend's invite link, we record who invited you so both of you get the bonus pixels.
Why, and on what basis
- To run the game and show who placed each pixel: performance of the service you sign up for.
- To prevent bots, abuse and multiple accounts: our legitimate interest in keeping the canvas fair.
Advertising
The gallery and season pages show ads from Google AdSense, and on the canvas you can choose to watch a short ad to refill your pixels. On large screens, the canvas page also shows two small banners at the sides.
Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads, and, if you agree, to personalise them. Visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's consent message, and you can change your choice at any time from the link it shows. More information: how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Who else is involved
- Google or Discord, only to confirm who you are when you sign in.
- Cloudflare delivers the website, protects it and runs the security check (Turnstile) before sign-in.
- The game server and database are hosted in Spain (European Union).
Google (AdSense) shows the ads described above.
We do not sell your data or share your account information with advertisers.
How long we keep it
Your account data is kept while your account exists. The weekly artworks, including who placed each pixel, are kept as part of the public archive. If you delete your account, your public name is removed from the archive.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or object to its use, by writing to hola@pixelwarfare.live. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in Spain, the AEPD).
Age
You must be at least 14 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to create an account.
Changes
If this policy changes (for example, when ads are added to the gallery), we will update this page and the date above.
